Triumph is a figurative bronze tribute to the truly heroic human spirits among us, and those who lend a hand to bring those precious spirits closer to their lofty goals. Depicted here we find an exuberantly-posed girl with sweeping wings that symbolically convey her uplifting spirit, giving a “thumbs up” to the starry sky above. She’s stands atop a mountain of helping hands offered by her loving supporters who raise her toward the Heavens. In this way, everyone involved shares in the triumph of the human spirit that she personifies.

The key inspiration for this sculpture is a girl I met on Long Island in 1996, who seemed to effortlessly inspire the love and loyalty of essentially everyone around her. This astounding ability of an innately triumphant human being to unite and inspire the people around them has been a source of joy and fascination ever since.
